I had a Samsung LCD tv that died so I needed something to replace it. After checking with Consumer Reports I went with this one. It’s one of their top rated and I agree. After checking around I found the lowest price at Amazon. com. My Samsung used to get hot quickly and the Aquos doesn’t heat up at all. I’m still trying to figure out all the settings but that’s my fault, not the tv’s. The picture quality is great. I would recommend it.

After looking at several LED LCD televisions both online and in person, my husband and I finally decided on the Sharp Aquos LC40LE700UN. Now that we’ve owned it for a couple of months, I can see we made the right choice. The picture quality is excellent. Much better than the Sony Bravia. If you are looking for an outstanding LED TV at a great price, look no further.

I was excited to get this tv but when I first got it hooked up I found the picture to be horrible. I was very disappointed because my old 36″ Vizio 720 picture was better than my new Sharp. I am not a technical person and I hate returning stuff so I contacted Sharp. They helped me change some of my settings to make the picture better and reduce the distortion with the picture and letters. I had to change my AV Mode to User 1 and reduce the sharpness to -10, decrease contrast by 1/3 and turn off active contrast. He explained because I don’t have HD on my Directv the 480 analog picture of my directv is amplified 225% to the 1080 and that is why my picture was blurry. So I am going to keep the tv after all.

I still cant believe how much better this TV is than my 2 year old LCD. The LED coloring is excellent and it only uses 75 watts, so it doesn’t heat up the whole room. My only complaint is that the screen is glossy, so open windows can cause glare if it’s in the wrong part of the room.
As a bonus this TV has the Aquos Vyper Gaming mode so the TV compensates for video game latency. It is very suprising how much of a difference it makes.

This HDTV is awesome. Power consumption on this tv is very good. So good that it runs on my APC 500VA UPS. Amazing. Gaming is excellent on this tv and it’s always amazingly cool.
